The New Title Sequence - A Rich Tapestry

And we’re back! There’s no cold open for this season, and while the music remains the same, the title sequence could not be more different. Instead of the blood flows of Season 1’s title sequence, we get a tapestry woven of Targaryen history. Of course, there’s still plenty of blood. The final shot of the tapestry shows Aegon II Targaryen and Rhaenyra Targaryen on their thrones divided by a dragon.

Winterfell & The Wall

Set days after the end of Season 1, we return to the familiar location of Winterfell while the Stark theme plays in the background. The new face of Cregan Stark, the young Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, guides us through the North all the way to The Wall. Jacaerys Velaryon lobbies Cregan for support in the war, but Cregan can only spare 2,000 greybeards to Rhaenyra Targaryen’s cause with winter approaching. Jace learns of his brother Lucerys Velaryon’s death.
