The Battle of the Burning Mill

Davos Blackwood, sworn to Rhaenyra Targaryen, successfully goads the Green-sworn Aeron Bracken into striking the first combat blow in the Dance of the Dragons. Both sides take heavy losses, and both men die in the battle.

The Brothers Rest

Erryk Cargyll and Arryk Cargyll are buried together under the orders of Rhaenyra Targaryen, and despite the protests of Jacaerys Velaryon. Rhaenys Targaryen counsels Rhaenyra to reach out to Alicent Hightower to avoid further bloodshed, and says that there are many moments that could be considered the start of the war.

Criston Catches the New Guys Slacking

Aegon II Targaryen’s pals have joined the Kingsguard and are already sitting down on the job. Criston Cole stares them down and goes to his first Small Council meeting as Hand of the King.

Greens in Disarray

The Green Council cannot agree on their next course of action, leading Alicent Hightower to order them to behave themselves. Criston Cole decides to take his small army North to the Riverlands to eventually take Harrenhal. Aegon II Targaryen blesses the plan and insists on joining on Sunfyre, as Aemond Targaryen will defend King’s Landing on Vhagar.

Mysaria Joins the Fight

Mysaria claims her reward for saving Rhaenyra Targaryen’s life, a place in the Queen’s Court. She states her reason is that she was surprised by Rhaenyra’s mercy in contrast to Aegon II Targaryen.
