Jason Lannister marches his host to The Golden Tooth to collect the forces of its Lord, Humphrey Lefford. Though Humphrey is ready for battle, Jason tells him to send a raven to Aemond Targaryen informing the Prince Regent that they will not march to Harrenhal without Vhagar. The Lannisters make themselves at home.
Aemond Targaryen holds a meeting of his Small Council where he angrily rejects Jason Lannister’s demand for Vhagar. He sends Tyland Lannister to treat with the Triarchy and help to break Corlys Velaryon’s blockade. Then, he sends Criston Cole to Harrenhal to aid the Lannister army before Daemon Targaryen can raise an army of his own. Finally, he dismisses his mother, Alicent Hightower, from the council. He has rid himself of dissenters.
Corlys Velaryon tries on his new Hand of the Queen pin while Rhaenyra Targaryen summons Steffon Darklyn to inform him that he has Targaryen blood and may be able to claim a dragon. He accepts the challenge.
Daemon Targaryen dreams himself into the throne room again to find his brother Viserys I Targaryen waiting for him. Viserys delivers the same monologue he did to Daemon in Season 1 Recap after he caught rumor of Daemon calling Viserys’ son the “heir for a day.” Viserys removes his crown as Daemon tries to escape, only to fall forward as the door is opened by Simon Strong, whom Daemon threatens.
